Rewinding. At last I gave in for paid advertising. Feeling forced, because of the situation with algorithms suppressing organic content in social media. So, in discomfort, I implemented paid ads into my marketing strategy and started paying for advertising, patiently. Here is how it went. It did not last long... Any explaining is not really needed. No other than I was left with too many questions and too few answers. Like, why does AI promote my knitting and crochet patterns to males in Kuwait? Why does ad fees double overnight just to make a post reach fewer people than if not advertised in the first place? Questions like these... I want control, not to be controlled in unproductive ways. I am not disappointed. I learned something and got it all confirmed; it is still not worth it. Right now I am enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and planning to never offer paid ads, or algorithms for that sake, another thought again. I will stick to my vision and stay authentic and true to myself in my way of running a business. A story should be told true. My approach is that work should not just represent what we do, but also who we are. So, I am not going to pay to annoy people again with just another paid ad in their feed. It just does not feel right. I am not giving up. This is not meant to be easy. It does take time, mistakes and more. That is the learning and the joy of the process. Unhesitatingly, I am going to let that train of paid ads leave into the horizon without me. We do not all have to take the same train, or train at all. I do have my own ideas.
